Kanginima Hospital started in 2000 as clinic but was elevated to a hospital status in 2004 and officially opened by his Excellency the president of Uganda General Yoweri Museveni on 12th November, 2004.
The Hospital has 4 buildings occupying an area of 12,500 sqr ft. It seats on 8 acre plot of land with a lot of space left for development.
It serves a population of about 220,000 people; it has a total of 60 beds and covers parts of Butebo County, Kabwangasi, Kidongole, Kameruka, Kakoro and neighboring district such as Budaka, Mbale, Sironko, Manafwa, Bududa, Namutumba and Busembatia
The main objective of establishing Kanginima Hospital was to have a well-functioning and self-sustaining hospital unit that would provide excellent medical care and improve the health of the surrounding communities.
Kanginima Hospital is unique in that the services offered are very rarely available in the rest of Uganda. Through subsidized medicines, Lodoi endeavors to ensure medical services are available to ALL and that patients are never turned away.
